I asked a question on Yahoo Answers,few few days ago I asked a Google Alert of Big Game Reel/Trolling Reel and another few days ago I received an Alert and I astonished by the Title "I mixed up by so many Fishing Reels.Help!?"
After I read the whole question and answer I feel very good that the world is a global villiage.
" I heared so many fishing reels like spincast reel,spinning reel,surfcasting reel,jigging reel,big game reel/trolling reel,fly reel,baitcaster reel.What are the difference?I really wanna know the difference of the Jigging Reel and the Trolling Reel,baitcaster reel and the trolling reel.Does surfcasting reel the same with the spinning reel?I think the same reel with different fishing lures for different types of fishing,it will have different names,am I right?
Could someone list me all the lures,different lures for different fishing types?"
"These are your basic fishing reels:
Spinning reels or some times called open faced reels - a good all around reel. The correct size will handle most fish.
Spin cast reels or some times called closed faced reels - usually not as well built as spinning reels. A good choice for lite duty fishing like panfish. Most kids learn to cast with these reels because of ease of use.
Bait cast reels - designed to cast 3/8 oz. lures or heavier. A little harder to use but once mastered you can cast further and more accurate. A favorite of Pro bass fisherman.
Trolling reels - any reel can be used for trolling , often refered to as a level wind reel {similar to a bait cast reel} these reels can have a line counter on them which counts the amount of feet you have out.
Surf reels - can be either spinning or casting reels, the size to match the species you are fishing for.
Fly reels - a special reel to hold your fly line, different sizes or weight # to match you fly rods, these reels are made with and with out a drag.
There are two many lures to list, if you have a species you want to catch I can recommend some of my favorites."

a. 1) abel fly reels.
2) daiwa baitcasters. particularly TDX series.
3) shimano baitcasters. curado, chronarch and calais.
4) ardent baitcasters. XS1000 can't be beat.
5) older ambassadeur baitcasters. not the shi...stuff they're putting out now. a revo is okay but not my pick.
6) shimano spinning reels. the better grades.
7) vintage mitchell spinning reels. l have some 40+ year old work horses.
8) almost anything by hardy or other british reels. not for any particular reason other than these are a fetish of mine.
9) penn saltwater reels. the older american made ones. conventional and spinning.
10) newell saltwater reels.

However there is no use in a huge large arbor fly reel when fishing in a tiny stream for small wild brown trout-then i prefer a smaller Orvis Battenkill, they are light to use all day, the drag is good and they hold just the right amount of line and are a lot cheaper than the large arbors i use for other fish.
have the finest drag, and most importantly absolutely no start up inertia. AIRFLOW makes a very good point about personal preference,and his choice of Abel fly reels is (of course) no slouch.
As far as spinning reels: I really don't do much spinning, but I do own several Shimanos and cannot complain.
Baitcaster: No clue.

Mourn Benson
So sorry to the Carp Benson's Passing we Chinese fishermen.Here is the report from London UK:
LONDON She was big. She was beautiful. And boy was she popular with the fishermen.
The death of Benson, the monster carp, has sent grief rippling through the British fishing community. Enthusiasts used to flock to Benson's home, the Bluebell Lakes in Cambridgeshire, for a shot at yanking the 64-pound (29-kilogram) behemoth out of the water. Her sheer size and picture-perfect looks won the hearts of the readers of Angler's Mail, who voted her Britain's favorite carp in 2005.
"Money could not have bought Benson. She had that celebrity status," Tony Bridgefoot, the owner of Bluebell Lakes, was quoted as saying in The Times of London on Tuesday. "I can't stress how famous she was in the angling world. All fisherman wanted to catch her. It was the size of the fish, but also the fact that she was scale perfect. It looked as if the scales had been painted on."
Even so, U.K. media gave the fish's death unusually wide coverage. Benson's big, scaly belly took up most of the Times' front page under the caption: "Britain's best-loved carp, 1984-2009." Benson had been caught and released more than 60 times over the course of her estimated 25 years, and news channels broadcast reels of souvenir shots taken by Benson's captors alongside live interviews with distressed fishermen.
"It was here that everybody came to catch Benson," Zoe Whitehead told the BBC from the lakes, about 85 miles (135 kilometers) north of London. She said she was disappointed to hear of Benson's death, discovered last Tuesday when she was found floating on the water's surface.
"Being the first female to catch Benson would have been fantastic," Whitehead said.
It didn't hurt that the fish's death was sprinkled with a small serving of intrigue: Bridgefoot said Benson may have been poisoned by nuts, bait that can fatal to the fish if not properly processed. But in a brief telephone interview with the AP he said he still could not understand the extent of the coverage,
"Nobody is more surprised than me," he said. "It made the front page of the Times, for goodness sake."
Animal-rights group PETA took the opportunity to tack a moral onto this fishy tale.
"Will anglers now relate to that fillet on their plate, or is all this 'mourning' for Benson a lot of crocodile tears?" the group said in an e-mail statement.
"No one should be hooked on fishing, and fish shouldn't be hooked at all."
